YE “RUBY - Rural-UrBan Youth Connection”

Summary

This project has the aim of contributing to the European Youth Goals agenda. As a specific objective, it wants to foster the dialogue between rural and urban youth on the topic of sustainable tourism. The main topics it will contain discuss how to foster the sense of youth belonging to the European project and build a bridge between the EU and young people, how to enable and ensure the inclusion of all young people in society, how to ensure that young people have better access to reliable information,  and how to support their ability to evaluate information critically and engage in participatory and constructive dialogue.

Dates: 09. - 15. 06. 2024.

Main objectives:

  • establishing the actual effects of mass tourism in Europe and how it stresses some areas, like Florence, and how it could be a resource for other more remote areas;

  • what are the environmental, social, and economic impacts of tourism;

  • how we can sustainably approach traveling and tourism;

  • making general reflections on personal and society’s behavior on sustainability.

Participant profile:

  • Croatian residency

  • participant (18 - 25 years old); group leader (20+ years old)

  • has a close relation to this topic

  • wants to improve their knowledge of sustainability

  • wants to learn new skills, methods, and tools

  • can communicate in English on a sufficient level

  • the project is fully financed by the European Commission as part of the Erasmus+ Programme

  • the cost of food, accommodation, and travel (up to 180€) is fully covered!

  • the group leader must attend the APV in Florence from the 9th to the 11th of May!

  • you can apply for the project until the 8th of April at 23.59!
